Establishing your brand as an author is incredibly important. There are thousands of places for readers to go to be entertained or enlightened, and likely to find content similar to yours.

Having unique content is very important, but having a strong brand to differentiate your work from others’ is incredibly important, as well.

Seth Godin does a very good job of explaning why in his piece define: Brand.

A brand’s value is merely the sum total of how much extra people will pay, or how often they choose, the expectations, memories, stories and relationships of one brand over the alternatives.
